OUT AGAIN IN PARIS
/It’s been a long few months, and we’ve been terribly remiss with the blog. But after the November attacks, the holiday travels to the south of France, and Bryan’s whole “becoming French and earning his PhD,” the business has been quiet. But we're back!
And so is Paris’s nightlife scene.
It wasn’t part of the news coverage, but November’s attacks at the Bataclan really hit home for the gay community in Paris. The theatre is a popular venue for the semi-regular “Folivores/Crazyvores” party, one of the best gay nights out in the city. It wasn’t just a place for rock bands.
Following the closure of the Bataclan, Folivores/Crazyvores was left without a home, but not for long. This month the party reopened with fanfare at the Redlight Club in the south of the city. Two events in January saw long lines, full dancefloors, crowded bars, and a lot of support from gays and friends from across Paris.
While the Redlight club holds none of the charm of the Bataclan, we were all happy that the team was there to welcome the soirée. Maybe one day Folivores/Crazyvores will return to the Bataclan, but for now we’re taking it one party at a time.
For more info on the nights out in Paris, follow Folivores/Crazyvores on Facebook and look for our next “Party Planner” for dates! For a more chill night out, come with us on one of our bar hops to explore the Marais, the center of gay nightlife in Paris, where we’ll hit our favorite bars and happy hours.
Now…is it the weekend yet?
